Hotel Triana (86€)
Another beautiful day… but with the walking very hard on my back. We travel through vineyards, and then on an old railroad bed, which is level and shaded. We decide that we need to forward our clothing and gear, as has been suggested by other pilgrims. This day has many bad moments, painful. We arrive at our very tacky hotel and attempt to arrange for baggage forwarding but to no avail… no English! Finally, out of desperation, we call Rom Bates back at the gite Ultreia in Moissac, and he tells us what to do. As well, we engage the help of a very sweet desk clerk and she calls ahead for reservations and then helps arrange and confirm our baggage service: RapidBag. We head into town to buy a bag to forward and, magically, find a perfect duffel at a hardware store. We hit the pharmacy for drugs for my back and then enjoy drinks on the plaza. Dinner at the hotel is simple… nicoise salad, chicken breasts and peas, ice cream.
