Le Pont Napoleon
We are up early and head out looking for the train station. It is raining. We find the station and buy our tickets to Antibes (where we will visit friends), then walk on to the abbey for a big look around. It’s impressive, with beautifully-painted walls and ceiling. We do some shopping in town find an interesting music store which makes many of the instruments featured on the abbey’s tympanum. Lunch at our little spot from yesterday. Good… lamb chops and ICE CREAM for Nick, and for me an assortment of appetizer meats – pate, smoked salmon, duck, ham, tomatoes and asparagus… Plus “La Clape” wine! We wander around and then return to the hotel. All in all a gloomy day. Dinner is OK… Nick has veal with mushrooms and rice with ice cream cake for dessert, and I have an appetizer of salmon layered with ricotta (excellent) and then pork in a yummy sauce. Good wine again.
[As an alternate Moissac accommodation, we suggest the gite Ultreia, where we would stay on the eve of our next Camino leg.]
