Le Gévaudan (56€)
Lovely breakfast with toast, cheese, coffee, juice and great apricot jam. Again, coffee in big bowls for dunking. Off at 8:20 AM for an easy day, with picnic on Les Estrets town bench. 80K so far! Again, beautiful country. We walked through forests and along ridges in intermittent rain, but very pleasant. We encountered puzzling huts. Refuges for shepherds? Haunts of gnomes? I bought new glasses in St. Albion. We arrived at our inn early, but were nevertheless ushered to a lovely room with sheets and towels. An American pilgrim was our interpreter. He is a student from Kentucky, studying French. Another delicious gite meal, a bit simpler. Wild boar stew, cheese, custard for dessert.
