Le Hameau de St. Jacques (84€ dp)**
A lovely day, the best yet. We stroll along the River Lot and then the ups and downs begin, but through beautiful green forests and pastures with sunlight everywhere. We are finally in good shape. We enjoy our ham and cheese sandwich on a makeshift stump-picnic table ensemble. Finally we arrive at a bungalow camp in Golinhauc… sooooo charming, a little cabin with sheets and towels. We hang out, nap, find a place to have a beer and thoroughly enjoy the afternoon. We walk down to the local hotel for a fabulous dinner. A long table filled with pilgrims is such fun! Our dinner companions are a couple from Korea who speak perfect English. They fill us in on what it will be like walking in Spain. They are terrific. We also engage with a very funny French Canadian who we have oft seen on the trail (with his new Camino friend, French Nicole).
