Argagnon to Abbaye Sauvelade – 11.3K

This entry is part 18 of 33 in the series Part 2: Moissac to Puente la Reina

Ass. Silva Lata (90€, dp inc. lunch)

We leave in the pouring rain.  It rains furiously for about 1 ½ hours and then subsides to a drizzle.  We hike through more farms and fields, then two BIG UPS with the inevitable BIG DOWNS that lead us to Abbaye Sauvalade.  We have lunch at our gite, adjoining an abandoned abbey… tasty rice with very thick bacon and wine, followed by a great nap. Again, Sherlock!  We have a tiny room but it is private.  Dinner is excellent… potage, pasta with chicken, and gateaux Basque.  This place is run by a cheery young couple with three little children.  We meet Jenny from Australia who is very nice and speaks English.  And Voila!… the extremely large women we saw a couple of days ago show up and are faring well.  Good for them!  Bon Courage!
