Le Puy-en-Velay

This entry is part 3 of 38 in the series Part 1: Le Puy-en-Valey to Moissac

 Gite des Capucins

Up at 6 AM for cathedral Mass at 7 with 150 other pilgrims.  Snow everywhere!  Back to the gite for breakfast and then out again.  A steep climb to a chapel atop the Roche Saint Michel, a Le Puy volcanic outcropping.  Lunch at Comme a la Maison (57€).  Wonderful!  More exploring and then a nap.  Difficult experience with cell phone but won in the end (Nicked it finally).  Dinner again at Le Poivrier (46€)… Coquille St. Jacque with creamy polenta, very rich.  How do the French eat like this every day and night?  Cream, butter, cream, butter, scallops and beef… DAUNTING!
